Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR is an intense and effective therapy for the treatment of the survivors of trauma. It involves the bi-lateral stimulation of the two halves of the brain using eye movements or other stimulation and is a comprehensive therapeutic approach that releases information stuck in the mind and body, releasing patients from distressing emotions and restrictive beliefs. It has been extensively researched and is one of the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) recommended treatments for PTSD.
